Renowned anime director Mamoru Hosoda‘s new anime movie Belle’s teaser visual was revealed on Thursday. Belle or Ryū to Sobakasu no Hime anime movie is produced by Studio Chizu and is set for 2021 premiere. The title of the anime literally means, “The Princess of Dragons and Freckles”. The anime film also released a key visual along with the teaser.
Mamoru Hosoda who is famous for his works such as The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, Summer Wars, The boy and the beast, is taking up the directional work for the movie along with script writing and is also credited for the original work. Here is the key visual unveiled by the staff:
The film will premiere in Japan in summer of 2021. The anime movie will mark the 10th anniversary of studio Chizu. Here is the teaser visual for Belle movie:
As previously announced by Studio Chizu, the film will portray an “ever evolving virtual world”, called as “U,” which has registered users up to 5 billion. Suzu, A 17 year old high school student who lives with her father in an village, after she lost her mother at an early age due to an accident. Suzu learns about the virtual world “U” and registers with an avatar named “Belle”. With her singing, she attracts worldwide attention. She later meets a mysterious dragon like creature.
Studio Chizu has specifically mentioned that the film focuses on themes like “coming of age, family ties, friendship that goes beyond species differences and the links between our lives.”
